As a follow up to our previous letter on being steadfast and true to principles of financial planning through all of the cycles of this world, we found a recent perspective piece written by one of our fund company partners Dimensional Fund Advisors (DFA). One of the tenets of participating in market-based investing, is that capital markets do operate efficiently to create clearing mechanisms, like valuation changes, to overcome challenges in the efficient deployment of capital to make economies work. A second tenet is that remaining with a principled approach to being fully invested in all cycles is the most accurate way of capturing long-term market returns.
